➼ North Korea’s military spy satellite launch fails

• North Korea’s attempt to launch its first military spy satellite failed after a rocket second stage malfunctioned.

• North Korea said an accident occurred as it planned to send up its first space satellite, causing it to crash into the sea.

➼ Excavation of Purana Quila reveals pre-Mauryan era settlement

• A new round of excavations at the site of Delhi’s Purana Quila or Old Fort has revealed evidence of the city’s continuous history dating back to the Mauryan period.

• The Purana Qila, built by Sher Shah Suri and the Mughal emperor Humayun, is believed by many to be the site of Indraprastha, as mentioned in the Mahabharata.

➼ Government to waive off ISTS fee for offshore wind projects

• Government has waived Inter-State Transmission Charges (ISTS) for off-shore wind projects, green hydrogen and green ammonia.
